Fusion Operation
The Fusion environment can be configured and used to create, visualize and track Trouble Calls, Outage and Incident information right on top of the distribution network data stored in its database. This information can be represented as a schematic network as well as a geographic network, and both representations can be viewed simultaneously in different Fusion viewers. Combined with Fusion Theme Editor, it is possible to display load summary, color by feeder, mainline and dashboard-type view themes.
The Outage Reporting system is used to provide Management and staff with a
thorough understanding of any distribution network deficiencies encountered in the past. By tracking outages, it is possible to establish which lines or network segments gave the most reliability issues.
Tracks network reliability using SAIDI, SAIFI, CAIDI, MAIFI and ASAI indices .
Each of these indices are derived statistics from the
collection of outage data input into the reporting system from the field. SAIDI is
the reliability index most electric utilities are graded on.
This particular index relates to the length or duration of outages expressed in
hours.
The compilation of data calculated into these indices gives us the
ability: To report to the Public Utilities Commissions;
Report to management and senior staff; Generate responses to complaints
and determine if complaints are valid. Further more, by tracking outage causes, it is possible to
determine what network improvements are required to increase feeder and substation reliability.

Network viewer
Fusion Viewer render spatial data from spatial RDBMS. It's configurable symbology with complex sub-part symbol allows you to visualize your GIS data in any possible ways.
The Network Viewer can be configure to automatically load the GIS data within the boundary of the viewer’s viewport, or to rely on the user to manually load the desired data. This flexibility allows you to optimize performances and business processes when working in a specific geographic area.
Background information can be displayed through the use of graphical files such as DXF or DWG files.

Network Analysis
Network Analysis is used to analyse the connectivity status of the
equipment—channels and devices—that make up the distribution network of
your organization. This analysis is done by running a trace, which
displays the connectivity of a network by means of a highlighting effect.
Within a localized network, a trace can be as short or as long as you want.
This is because Network Analysis allows you to select a place in the network
that will serve as the starting point of a trace and to select other places that
will serve as the ending points, also called breaking or break points.
Instead of using break points, however, other methods are available to limit
the extent of a trace. For example, you can run a trace on a particular phase,
or you can let a trace run until the sum of a certain attribute equals a
pre-identified value, or you can cause a break to occur when the trace
encounters the first instance of a particular type of entity or a particular class
of entities.

LineView
LineView™ is a .NET™ based software solution that analyses the connectivity database and entity components of a circuit, then produces an electrical tree-diagram specified by the user. This result is dynamic in that LineView can be re-run at any time and specifically after circuit corrections or switching operations.
What are the Benefits of Using LineView™?
- Users have the ability to electrically analyze actual distribution circuits with a display result of their choice.
- Phase, de-energized entities, parallel loops and missing attribute data are easily recognized by color.
- Load transfer affects of Switching Operations can be predicted and demonstrated visually.
- Temporary restoration switching affects can be predicted.
- Circuit Tie Switches can be quickly located and identified.
- Network data mapping corrections can be quickly verified.

Theme editor
Theme Editor is a Fusion™ plug-in that enables the user community to define thematic views of the Fusion database content, based on the needs of each user group. Defined thematic views are available to be used with all Fusion plug-ins installed on any given Fusion workstation.

Reporting
Reporting is a module that allows you write, share and run queries on your data to validate and to interogate the content of your Fusion GIS database. The results can be displayed in a viewer, a tabular grid, a browser or exported in other data formats to view them externally.
Here is a short list of data analysis where Fusion Reporting delivers exceptional results:
- Connectivity anomaly detection (Parallel feed, loops, de-energized sections, phase dégradation conditions, etc.)
- Feature relationships analysis (customer to transformer, overhead equipment to pole, underground equipment to vault, etc.)
- Construction standards analysis (overhead to underground connections, wire size and connected equipment, equipment type and pole class, invalid span length, etc.)
- Spatial analysis (invalid equipment placement, overlapping feature detection, etc.)
- Other data quality verifications (missing mandatory values, incompatible attribute values, missing mandatory annotations, etc.)
Fusion being based on Oracle Spatial, you have access to all the Oracle spatial functions to analyse your data.
